While the joy of their betrothal is evident, a dark cloud hangs over Penelope in the form of Eloise Bridgerton. As we learned in Season 2’s finale, Eloise holds the shocking truth – Penelope is the notorious gossip columnist, Lady Whistledown. At a lavish ball, Eloise raises a toast to the happy couple, wishing them “truly knowing each other completely.” This seemingly innocent toast carries a heavy weight, as Penelope’s double life could unravel at any moment.

Will Colin discover the truth about Penelope’s alter ego and potentially call off the wedding? Part 1 offered clues that could swing the story either way. We saw Colin guiding Penelope in her quest for a husband, even as sparks flew between the two friends. The season ended with a steamy scene and a surprise proposal from Colin.
The first half of Season 3 shattered Bridgerton’s viewership records, garnering over 41 million views in just the first four days. This massive success fuels the anticipation for Part 2, which arrives on June 13th with four new episodes.
In Part 1, Penelope finally gave up on her long-held crush on Colin after his hurtful remarks last season. She now was seeking a husband who will grant her independence, allowing her to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown. However, Penelope’s lack of confidence made her initial attempts at finding a husband rather disastrous.
Meanwhile, Colin returned from his travels with a newfound confidence and a dashing new look. However, he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always saw him for who he was, was now giving him the cold shoulder. Determined to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the art of confidence, hoping to help her find a husband this season.
But as Colin’s lessons start to work a little too well, he begins to grapple with his true feelings for Penelope. Are they simply friendly, or is there something more? Further complicating matters for Penelope was her strained relationship with Eloise (Claudia Jessie). Eloise found a new friend in an unexpected place, leaving Penelope feeling isolated. Meanwhile, Penelope’s growing presence in society makes it increasingly difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown identity a secret.
Bridgerton returns for its third season in a two-part format. Part 1 premiered on May 16, 2024, with Part 2 scheduled for release on June 13, 2024.
