Bloodbath? You want a bloodbath?
I’ll give you a real bloodbath.
This week is the fourth anniversary of the biggest bloodbath ever – ever! – in American history.
Fifteen days to flatten the curve.
Let’s go straight to the executive order of Gov. Charlie Baker on March 15, 2020:
“WHEREAS, section 7, 8 and 8A of Chapter 639 of the Acts of 1950 authorize the Governor, during the period of a declared emergency, to exercise any and all authority over persons and property necessary or expedient for meeting a state of emergency, including but not limited to authority over public assemblages in order to protect the health and safety of persons….
“This Order is effective March 17, 2020 and shall remain in effect through April 5, 2020 unless further extended….”
It was further extended, as you may recall.
Now that was a bloodbath, a real bloodbath, not a figure of speech about something that might happen to an industry that might be wrecked by the Red Chinese, which is just what they did to the US with their Wuhan flu exactly four years ago.
Baker’s original “Order” was extended until June 2021, but elements of it lingered on until May 11 of last year.
For those keeping score at home, that’s 1,150 days to flatten, not the curve, but the entire society.
It was a bloodbath, not figurative, but literal.
As a matter of fact, it still is a bloodbath. The average life expectancy of Americans has declined, and not because of the Wuhan flu. It’s because of the drugs, alcohol, loneliness, missed medical appointments, bankruptcies, etc.
And now the same Beautiful People who ginned up a phony Panic to get rid of Trump are going crazy because he used a word they themselves use all the time.
And they get away with their breathtaking hypocrisy, just the way they’ve never suffered in the least for causing the greatest bloodbath ever just four short years ago.
Consider then-Gov. Charlie Baker, who after the single worst term as governor in Massachusetts history (so far, Maura), now makes upwards of $3.5 million a year ruining the NCAA.
Forget death. Failure, where is thy sting?
Martin Kulldorf, the Harvard epidemiologist, said, “We will be dealing with the harm done for decades.”
I had Kulldorf on my show. This was before he was pushed out of Harvard for… speaking the truth. Me, I used to be on YouTube. I was de-platformed, over and over and over again. But believe me, I know I got off easy compared to tens of millions of other Americans.
The Committee to Unleash Prosperity (CTUP) just noted the fourth anniversary of the 15-days-to-flatten-the-curve bloodbath with a paper, “COVID Lessons Learned: A Retrospective After Four Years.”
The authors included Dr. Scott W. Atlas, an M.D. and another former guest on my program, I’m proud to say. Despite the slings and arrows they’ve absorbed, history will be much kinder to the Atlases and the Kulldorfs than to the Faucis and the Bakers.
Here are some of the lessons Atlas et al. list:
Leaders Should Calm Public Fears, Not Stoke Them.
Lockdowns Do Not Work to Substantially Reduce Deaths or Stop Viral Circulation.
Lockdowns and Social Isolation Had Negative Consequences that Far Outweighed Benefits.
Government Should Not Pay People More Not to Work.
Shutting Down Schools Was a Major Policy Mistake With Tragic Effects on Children, Especially the Poor.
Masks Were of Little or No value and Possibly Harmful.
Government Should Not Suppress Dissent or Police the Boundaries of Science.
Warp Speed: Deregulate But Don’t Mandate.
Limit Government Emergency Powers and Earn Back Public Trust.
All of the above are just common sense, right? Yet four years ago, as we were beginning the 15 days to flatten the curve, saying any of the above could not only get you canceled from social media, it could also get you fired from your job.
And yet, next to no one has paid any price whatsoever for any of what are real crimes against humanity. What they did to all of us was insane. No society had ever attempted to deal with a plague by shutting down everything. You know why? Because they knew it wouldn’t work.
And remember, COVID wasn’t the Black Death, or even the Spanish flu of 1919. It was more like… the flu. The vast majority of people who died were very old, very sick, or very fat.
Do you remember how you could get thrown out of just about anywhere, if not arrested, for not wearing a mask? But then George Floyd died while in police custody (the coroner ruled conclusively that he wasn’t “murdered”).
And suddenly it was okay to loot, vandalize, burn down buildings, shoot at police cars on Tremont Street, etc.
Because racism was a “public health crisis.”
Really? As a columnist in the New York Post wrote yesterday: “So is obesity, but one doubts they would have endorsed a March Against Fatness.”
Four years after the bloodbath began, the wreckage endures. Millions of Americans no longer work. Some may have jobs, so to speak, but they no longer “work.” Why should they? As Dr. Atlas notes, they got paid more not to work.
Worse, much worse, is the destruction of education. And for what? Nobody under the age of 10 died unless they were already terminally ill. Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins pointed that out, and the Deep State tried to cancel him too. (He was on my show too.)
Now, even the New York Times, a religious tract of the Deep State, admits: “The more time students spent in remote instruction, the further they fell behind. And, experts say, extended closures did little to stop the spread of COVID.”
You don’t say!
But still, all these years after the bloodbath, you still see mentally ill people dutifully wearing masks. It’s a cult thing. They’ve been compared to those Japanese soldiers that remained holed up in caves on remote Pacific islands for 20 or 30 years after the end of World War II.
They just couldn’t admit that it was over.
As Mark Twain once said, “How easy it is to make people believe a lie and how hard it is to undo that work again.”
And all the same Democrat hacks and state-run media (but I repeat myself) who pushed the pernicious lies about COVID are up in arms about Donald J. Trump saying “bloodbath.”
Never forget these words:
