A TEENAGE boy has died after being pulled from a river in Northamptonshire.
Ronalds Abele, 17, got into difficulty in the River Nene at Wellingborough on Friday afternoon.
Following a large scale operation involving a specialist fire crew, the teen was airlifted to Northampton General Hospital.
Despite the efforts of medics, Ronalds was pronounced dead a short time later.
Northamptonshire Police said his passing was “a tragic incident”.
They added: “Ronalds’ family have requested privacy at this very distressing time.”
Police said emergency services were called to The Embankment just after 1.45pm on Friday following reports that a teenager was in difficulty in the water.

Part of the area was sealed off, nearby roads closed and boaters prevented from coming into the vicinity.
