The Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest, held on October 3, 2024, at Taj Lands End, Mumbai brought together leading figures from the entertainment world to examine the fast-paced evolution of India’s OTT platforms. Over the course of two days, celebrities engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the shifting dynamics of digital content creation. The first day ended on a high as Kriti Sanon and Kanika Dhillon spoke about their Netflix film, Do Patti. It also stars Kajol and releases on October 25.
Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest 2024: Writer-producer Kanika Dhillon speaks about Kriti Sanon-starrer Do Patti: “Kajol warned me, ‘Every film I have sat on a bike, I have broken my leg. Toh woh dekh lena’”
Both spoke highly about Kajol. Kriti Sanon said, “My second film was Dilwale (2015), which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. I was a baby back then. I had a very few scenes with them. I was very nervous as I knew nothing about filmmaking then. I was learning on the job. 8 years later, while working again with Kajol ma’am, I realized that we didn’t have meaty performance-oriented scenes in Dilwale. I was also so new that I didn’t really know that depth. Over the years, I learned my craft and figured out my way of working.”
Kriti continued, “In this film, we had solid scenes. One of the most amazing things about her is that she’s very collaborative. She’ll correct you. At times, she would tell me that, ‘If you do like this, it’ll be better’. At times, when I would share my suggestion, she’d take it up if she liked my idea. It’s not like, ‘I am your senior’. She’ll also encourage me. That meant a lot coming from her.”
Kanika Dhillon raised laughs as she said, “After Kajol ma’am heard the story, she told me, ‘Poori kahaani suni maine. Bada maza aaya, Kanika. Lekin mujhe na bike chalani nahin aati’! I replied, ‘We’ll manage’. She warned me, ‘Every film I have sat on a bike, I have broken my leg. Toh woh dekh lena’!”
