The Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest, held on October 3, 2024 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai brought together leading figures from the entertainment world to examine the fast-paced evolution of India’s OTT platforms. Over the course of two days, celebrities engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the shifting dynamics of digital content creation. One of the stand out sessions was of Siddharth Anand, hosted by Mayank Shekhar.

Siddharth Anand is today known for action films but he began his career with the romcom Salaam Namaste (2005), starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. Siddharth shared fascinating information about what the plot of the film originally was.
Siddharth said, “Salaam Namaste was a very different story initially. It was the story of an Indian boy and a Pakistani girl. Preity Zinta’s character Ambar was supposed to be a Pakistani. They meet and fall in love in Australia. They live in together. The interval point is when their parents from India and Pakistan land up at the same house. They had to pretend that they are roommates, who happen to share the rent. Then their fathers stay with them. They have to pretend that they are not in love and that they are just roommates! That is the reason why this film is called Salaam Namaste.”
Siddharth Anand added, “We eventually changed things around and it became about pregnancy and other stuff.”
The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards, in association with Cinema Waale Film and Television Productions LLP and Across Media Solutions, is to be held on the 3rd & 4th of October 2024 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
