The Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest, held on October 3 and October 4, 2024, at Taj Lands End, Mumbai brought together leading figures from the entertainment world to examine the fast-paced evolution of India’s OTT platforms. Over the course of two days, celebrities engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the shifting dynamics of digital content creation. One of the most unexpectedly fun sessions of the second day of the fest was that of Sunny Hinduja and Durgesh Kumar. The latter played the antagonist in the iconic web show Panchayat and his memes, along with the actor himself, have achieved cult status.

Towards the end of the session, Durgesh Kumar was asked if he likes to have foreign liquor. Durgesh replied, “Main toh videshi kuch bahi nahi peeya. I have only consumed desi drinks!” As expected, there was applause from the audience on these statements.
Durgesh, however, made it clear that he doesn’t even drink socially. “I had alcohol for 6-7 months,” he said. “My friends told me, ‘Pee ke dekho. Acting badhiya hoga’. Hence, I had it. But then I realized, ‘Yeh sab accha cheez nahin hai’.” This statement, too, got a great reaction.
Later, Durgesh Kumar was asked if he had ever written a love letter. The actor felt shy. He paused for a few seconds and then answered, “Likha hai!” As the audience hooted, he shared more details, “Uss ladki ka naam Choti tha. I was in class 9. I wrote to her, ‘Meri choti si asha hai ki aap zindagi acche se kaato!’”
