The body is still being formally identified but the family of Liam Miller, 21, from Renton, Dunbartonshire, have been informed.

He was last seen around 2am on Main Street in the town on Wednesday.

Officers had previously appealed for anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward to help with their search.

When last seen he was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and jogging bottoms and grey Nike Air Max trainers.

There were growing concerns for his welfare.

Police Scotland said: “Emergency services attended and the body of a man was recovered.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
