Body found near water in hunt for missing woman who vanished from Scots city three weeks ago

A BODY has been found in the hunt for a missing woman who vanished three weeks ago.

Santra Saju disappeared from the South Gyle area of Edinburgh on December 6.

Police Scotland launched an urgent investigation, which unearthed CCTV footage showing her at her last known location.

She was captured on camera entering the Asda store at Almondvale, Livingston between 9.10pm and 9.45pm that night.

Officers have confirmed they were were made aware of a body found in the water near to Newbridge at around 11.55am on Friday.

Formal identification has still to take place however the family of Santra Saju, 22, has been informed.

The death is not believed to be suspicious.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
