Body found in search for missing man as cops probe ‘unexplained’ death

A BODY has been found during a desperate search for a missing man.

Robert Drysdale, 58, was reported missing from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, after he was last seen five days ago.

He was last spotted on Glenpatrick Road in nearby Elderslie at noon on March 8.

But tonight, cops tragically confirmed that a man’s body has been discovered.

Formal identification is still to take place.

But police confirmed tonight that Robert’s relatives have been informed.

Officers are treating the death as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been found during searches for missing 58-year-old Robert Drysdale from Johnstone.

“He is yet to be formally identified but his next of kin has been informed.
