Marvel’s vampire crossover event, Blood Hunt, is teasing a major death with its first cover reveal. The major event is bringing together a team of heroes to take on an army of bloodsuckers. All to save the Marvel Universe from an undead apocalypse. The team features Marvel’s very own vampire slayer, Blade. He is joined by his Daywalker daughter, Bloodline, and his protégé of sorts, Miles Morales. The event comes from writer Jed MacKay and artists Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia. It all kicks off in May with a main event limited series, several tie-in issues, and one-shots.
Blood Hunt #1
This vampiric event begins in the upcoming Free Comic Book Day 2024: Blood Hunt/X-Men #1 and main Blood Hunt #1. According to an official synopsis, an eternal night overtakes the Marvel Universe. With it, an overwhelmingly large army of vampires emerges from the shadows. Additionally, these vampires seem to be united under a single goal, which makes them a terrifying force. However, this undead scourge is about to find out that taking over the Marvel Universe is no easy feat.
Of course, to combat this new threat, the heroes of the Marvel Universe will unite. As night bathes the world in darkness, Marvel’s brightest stars step forward to take out some vampire baddies. Heroes like the Avengers, Hunter’s Moon, Tigra, Doctor Strange, Clea, and Blade’s troupe are ready to fight. Will they be enough to stop this onslaught? Or will the world drown in an ocean of blood?
Who Will Die?
This week, Marvel revealed a first look at the cover for Blood Hunt #1. The cover, from artist Kael Ngu, brings forth a rather ominous question. It asks, “Who will bite it?” as the phrase “Watch your neck” looms above. Meanwhile, the rest of the cover features a collage of the heroes involved in the Blood Hunt event. This includes Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Thor, and more. Of course, Blade’s silhouette is front and center. Could it be one of these heroes who is doomed to death? Or are they simply meant for a more bloodsucking future?
Marvel’s Blood Hunt kicks off this May.
