Biden ‘Can’t Continue’ and Won’t Be Nominee

Famed Democratic strategist James Carville prophesied that President Joe Biden will not be on the Democratic presidential ticket this year.

On Thursday, Biden participated in his first debate this cycle with former President Donald Trump. The president’s performance was so poor, MSNBC hosts openly discussed potentially replacing him on the ticket and the New York Times called for him to step aside and make way for someone else – even at this late stage.

Like Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris also has a low approval rating, so it is hardly obvious who that “someone else” would be.

Nevertheless, Carville predicted that Biden will not be on the presidential ticket come November.

“I never thought this was a nifty idea,” Carville told Axios about Biden’s reelection bid in a report published on Saturday. “He doesn’t have advisers. He has employees.”

Axios reported that Biden only listens to a small inner circle of advisers that includes his wife Jill Biden, his sister, former Sen. Ted Kaufman, and a small group of White House advisers.

Carville assessed Biden’s candidacy by paraphrasing the late economist Herbert Stein.

“That which can’t continue … won’t,” Carville said.

Thursday’s debate was a jarring affair for Democrats. Biden repeatedly stumbled over his words and struggled to express his thoughts. At one point he meandered through his response before bizarrely declaring, “We finally beat Medicare.”

After the debate, former Obama adviser David Axelrod not-so-subtly suggested Biden should not run again when he told a pair of Republican strategists, “If for whatever reason there’s a change at the top of the ticket, you guys are in trouble…”
