Bhavana Pandey recalls how Ananya Panday chose acting over college for ‘Student Of The Year 2’ |

Ananya Panday made her debut in the acting world with ‘Student Of The Year 2’ at a very young age. Since then, there has been no looking back. Ananya has been doing a variety of projects, trying her hand in different genres. She has been able to establish herself as one of the reliable stars owing to her versatility. However, did you know for her first movie, she decided to sacrifice something very important? She decided to not attend college for ‘Student Of The Year 2.’
In a recent interview, Ananya’s mother Bhavan Pandey recalled the whole incident. During her conversation with Entertainment Live, Bhavana shared that Ananya Panday finished school, and was all set for college. The ‘CTRL’ fame star wanted to study media and communication at USC in Los Angeles. The registration process was complete but at the same time, the ‘SOTY 2’ director contacted Bhavana at a party. Upon meeting, he tried to run an idea past Bhavana. He asked her if Ananya was interested in playing the lead in ‘Student Of The Year 2.’
Bhavana told Puneet that Ananya had other plans. She had registered herself for further studies, but Puneet urged her to send Ananya for the audition if she is interested. Bhavana was confident that Ananya would continue with her college plan but much to her surprise the star kid aced the audition and got the role.
“She got selected and she said ‘I am not going to college’. That was quite a dhakka for Chunky and me, we were pretty sure that she was going,” said Bhavana.
However, as the movie was postponed by a year, Bhavana was reassured that Ananya would still go to college.
Bhavana also added that Ananya’s decision made her realize that her girl is a strong strong-minded, independent lady.
