On Friday night in Kolkata, Bengali actor Payel Mukherjee was reportedly attacked by a criminal on a bike when she was driving her vehicle. The event happened on Southern Avenue amid the city’s continuous protests over the purported rape and killing of a trainee physician on August 9 at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

In a video that Payel Mukherjee shared on social media, she says a young man pulled up in front of her SUV on a two-wheeler and requested her to get out. But when she wouldn’t come out, the man broke the right side window of her car, injured her hand and left her distressed.
