The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday declined to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought to prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from holding a state-wide Bengal Bandh, and called the bandh ‘illegal,’ reported ANI.
Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam and Justice H Bhattacharyya ruled that the PIL was inadmissible because the petitioner, Sanjoy Das, had previously been prohibited from filing any PILs in a prior case.
