Bajaj Sunny EV spotted camouflaged on roads
Based on a report by Autocar India, the Bajaj Sunny EV test mule was spotted on roads with its iconic design. The shots reveal a round headlamp and rectangular taillamp similar to the 1990s model of the Bajaj Sunny. The electric scooter also features a flat floorboard and an exhaust pipe is noticeably absent which makes sense considering it is an EV.
The new Bajaj Sunny seems to feature a different platform compared to the Chetak considering the size of the vehicle. It will also be priced less which will help it be positioned below the Chetak. However, you should still keep your expectations low as the brand has not confirmed the launch till now and the scooter may never make it to market.
The Bajaj Chetak EV received a refresh earlier this year with new variants and the base ‘Premium’ variant starts at Rs. 1.21 lakh in the country. A 3kWH battery and 3.8kW motor power this scooter to deliver 108 km of ARAI-certified range.
