Baileys is 41% off on Amazon – cheaper than most supermarkets

Baileys is a tipple of choice for many, particularly in the colder months. If you are partial to the creamy liqueur, then now could be the time to stock up.

The one-litre bottle is reduced from £22 to £12.96 on Amazon, saving a whopping 41% off. For us, this offer is a no-brainer: it’s cheaper than many of the major supermarkets right now, you don’t need a loyalty card, and you can get it delivered straight to your door rather than part of a bigger shop.

At the time of writing, it’s retailing at £22 at Morrisons and Tesco, with the latter offering a £13 deal but only with a Clubcard. At  Sainsbury’s, it’s £21.95 at full price or £13.50 with a Nectar card.

According to price-comparisson tracker Camelcamelcamel, the current offer is the cheapest on Amazon in the past month and it has only been marginally cheaper (£12.29) once in the past year.

As well as being a treat drink to have in the cupboard, Baileys also makes a great gift – with Mother’s Day coming up in March, you could buy a bottle or two in advance.

While purists may enjoy Baileys over ice, it’s a versatile drink, and lends itself well to cocktails and desserts too. The Baileys website has plenty of recipes for incorporating the liqueur, from elaborate desserts to simply pouring over ice cream, or using as a cocktail ingredient.

Baileys hot chocolate:

For the colder months, Baileys makes a luxurious addition to hot chocolate. Once you’ve mixed your usual hot chocolate powder and milk, simply add 50ml of Baileys and enjoy – you could also add cream if you wanted to make it even more decadent.

Baileys Espresso Martini:

Using just three main ingredients: 50ml of Baileys, 25ml of espresso, 25ml of vodka, simply add them all to an ice-filled cocktail shaker, shake, and strain into martini glasses, before garnishing with coffee beans.

Agreeing with the versatility of the drink, one Amazon shopper said: ”What’s there to say about Baileys? Honestly, it’s just pure love in a bottle! Whether you’re enjoying it in coffee, on the rocks, or straight up, it never disappoints. Creamy, sweet, and smooth—definitely a go-to for any occasion. Couldn’t recommend it more!”

However, another shopper shared their less positive thoughts, added: ”When used in a cocktail with a clear spirit and amaretto/coffee it was too rich and sweet for me.”

As an alternative to Baileys or if you’re searching for a chic-looking gift idea, the Two Stacks Double Irish Cream Liqueur comes in a stylish bottle, and whisky fans will appreciate the fact that the recipe features a blend of four different whiskies – this liqueur costs £21.50.

Putting a twist on the traditional cream liqueur, the Espresso Martini Velvetised Cream from Hotel Chocolat is worth a try if you love a cocktail. Even more decadent than the usual blend, this combines vodka, espresso, white chocolate and cream. At 12%, it’s not quite as strong as Baileys, making it ideal for using in desserts without adding a significant alcohol taste.
