APSC JE Exam 2024: Previous schedule
The exam was supposed to be conducted on June 2, 2024 and the admit cards have already been released for the exam by the commission on May 29, 2024. The exam was scheduled to be held in two shifts, the morning shift from 10 AM to 12 PM and the afternoon shift from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM focusing on civil, electrical, mechanical, and chemical subjects.
Assam Flood Situation: 6 persons dead, Cachar worst-hit district
Notably, six persons in Assam have so far lost their lives to floods caused by heavy downpour in the aftermath of cyclone Remal. Cachar district in the Barak valley is the worst-affected district. According to the flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), more than 26,400 people were affected in the Karimganj district, while 8351 people were affected in Cachar and 6227 in the Hailakandi district.
Heat wave in Assam’s Barak Valley: School timings and exams rescheduled
Flood apart, Assam had been experiencing severe heatwave for several weeks with the maximum temperature reaching 40 degree Celsius in several parts of the state, including the capital city of Guwahati and Silchar in Barak valley. Keeping the weather conditions in mind, Cachar district commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha, on 25th May, revised the timings of schools in order to protect the health and safety of students. He directed that 27th May onwards, all government and private schools will operate on adjusted schedules. Here the new school timings according to the district commissioner’s order:
Lower Primary Schools: 7.30 AM to 12.15 PM
Upper Primary Schools: 7.30 AM to 12.45 PM
High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools: 7.30 AM to 1.15 PM
