Anushka Sharma openly admits that she and Virat Kohli are not perfect parents to Vamika and Akaay: ‘We will complain about things’ | Hindi Movie News

Anushka Sharma made a rare appearance in Mumbai on Wednesday as she attended a brand event, marking her return to the city after a considerable break. During the event, Anushka candidly discussed the pressures of parenting alongside her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, and the importance of leading by example for their children, Vamika and Akaay.
Speaking at the Slurrp Farm’s YES Moms & Dads event, Anushka acknowledged the overwhelming expectations of being the “perfect parent.” She admitted that both she and Virat feel the strain of these expectations but stressed the importance of showing their children that it’s okay to be imperfect.
“There is so much pressure to be like this perfect parent. We are not perfect parents, we will complain about things, and it is okay to admit it to them also. So they know that you are flawed. Imagine kids having to live up to, ‘Oh my parents are like this’. So owning your mistakes makes (it easier),” Anushka said.

She also reflected on how her social life has changed since becoming a parent. She humorously noted that her social circle has shrunk to include mostly other parents, making it challenging to maintain a regular social life. “I can only hang out with people who do the same and that’s very few people. So social life, you can forget about it. People invite us to dinner and I am like (makes a confusing expression)… You are probably eating a snack at the time we eat our dinner. Some day, occasionally you have to let it go, otherwise people will hate you,” she joked.

The actress also spoke about instilling good values in her children, stressed the importance of leading by example rather than trying to directly teach them. She believes that living a life of gratitude and kindness will naturally influence her children. “In my case, I have realised that my daughter is very young. And I don’t think I can teach her anything. It is how we lead our lives,” she shared.
She believes that their actions, such as showing gratitude, are more effective in teaching their daughter than any direct instruction. She stressed that being a good role model and enjoying their children’s childhood is crucial, and if the children act out, it’s simply part of being young and can be gently guided.

On the work front, Anushka was last seen in the 2018 film Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She is now eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming sports biopic, Chakda Xpress, which is based on the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
