Anurag Kashyap in an interview revealed that two actors he launched recently stopped responding to him for a new film.
Anurag Kashyap has always grabbed the headlines for his bold statements. The director has never shied away from speaking his heart out. Recently, in a conversation with Fever FM, Kashyap revealed, that two actors he launched in their careers recently stopped responding to him when he approached them for a new film. He mentioned that he respects actors who reject offers for valid reasons but expressed frustration with those who leave him waiting and then suddenly cut off contact.
During the conversation, Anurag said, “I like the quality in some people who say no because of whatever reason, I respect them a lot. But people who make you go around for three years and then say no, or just start ghosting you, that I have a problem with. It still happens. There are two actors who started their careers with me and then ghosted me on the film that I am doing. They didn’t care to say a yes or no, they just ghosted.”
“In March, Kashyap took to social media to announce his fatigue with mentoring untalented individuals and declared his decision to begin charging a consultancy fee. In an interview with Humans of Cinema, the filmmaker delved into the motivation behind his viral post, stating that it wasn’t directed towards filmmakers but was intended to deter ‘faaltu log’ from squandering his time.
Taking about what happened in the last two years, Anurag said, “What people are not aware and they don’t ask, is what zone are you in. I have gone through two and a half years of extreme sickness, and dependency on medicines, I have gone through my whole phase of depression. In a phase like that, you have to prioritise yourself first. So, if I am not physically, mentally, emotionally healed…. If you see my interviews of last year, you will see it is on my face how unwell I was. Even then people come and ask you to read their script.”
