Another beloved South African celebrity has announced that they are getting a divorce. Will their divorce get as much attention from the public as Siya Kolisi’s divorce? Probably not.
Popular South African comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout announced on social media that he and his wife, Mica McKechnie, are getting a divorce after almost two years of marriage. As finding humour in everyday things is one of his talents, he also put some humour into this situation by commenting on Facebook about Huisgenoot’s article regarding his divorce. He jokingly stated, ‘Say what you want about Huisgenoot, but they are up to it! I think they already knew I was divorcing before I did!’
Fake news?
Surprisingly, many fans initially reacted to the news claiming that it is fake news. However, Bezuidenhout has confirmed that it is indeed true.
Again putting some humour into an unpleasant situation, he made a comment about Siya and Rachel Kolisi’s divorce saying that his is ‘probably a bit of an anti-climax after Siya and Rachel’.
Since the Kolisis announced their divorce, the media and the public have been abuzz with comments, speculations, and reports.
What Schalk Bezuidenhout said about their relationship
After asking for Mica’s hand in marriage in 2019, Schalk waited two years to walk down the aisle, but admitted he knew he found the one at the beginning stages of their relationship, as reported by Times Live.
“Very early on in our relationship I wanted to marry Mica, like a month or two, but I waited two years before I wanted to ask her because I knew she would be freaked out if I asked her after two months.”

He also added that Mica understood that being away from home is not because he wants to gallivant but is part of his career.
