Amitabh Bachchan often offers tea to his fans whenever he appears on his famous quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. In the latest episode of the show, Big B revealed how he made it a habit to buy gajra (jasmine flowers) for his wife, Jaya Bachchan. The megastar also shared that he has never used an ATM to withdraw cash in his life.
Amitabh and the Gajra for Jaya
In a recent episode of KBC, a contestant casually mentioned that every time she returns home from work, her mother asks her to bring vegetables or other household items. She then asked Amitabh Bachchan if he also faced similar situations.
The contestant asked, “Jab main office se ghar jaati hoon, toh mummy bolti hain dhaniya ya kuch aur le aana. Kya Jaya ma’am aapko bhi kuch laane ke liye kehti hain?” (When I return from work, my mother asks me to bring vegetables from the market. Does Jaya Bachchan also ask you to bring anything?)
Amitabh Bachchan responded with a smile, “Bilkul kehti hain. Keh deti hain, ‘Apne aap ko le aana ghar!’” (Yes, she does. She asks me to bring myself home!).
He further shared, “Jaya ji ko gajra bahut pasand hai, toh raaste mein jab chhote bacche haar bechne aate hain, toh main unse kharidta hoon aur woh haar kabhi Jaya ji ko deta hoon ya kabhi gaadi mein rakh leta hoon, kyunki unki mehek acchi lagti hai.” (Jaya loves jasmine flowers, so I often buy garlands from street kids selling them. I either give them to her or keep them in my car because I love their fragrance.)
Amitabh Bachchan Has Never Used an ATM
As the show progressed, the contestant asked Amitabh Bachchan whether he had ever visited an ATM to check his bank balance. To this, the actor humorously confessed, “Na toh hum apne paas cash rakhte hain, na kabhi ATM gaye hain, kyunki hamein samajh nahi aata ke kartein kaise hain. Lekin Jaya ji ke paas hota hai. Main unse paise maangta hoon.” (I neither keep cash with me nor have I ever visited an ATM because I don’t understand how to use one. But Jaya keeps cash, so I ask her for money.)
His candid response left the audience in awe of his simplicity and humour. KBC is currently streaming on Sony Channel and continues to entertain its audience with delightful moments like these.
