Taking on the role of Ashwatthama, Bachchan surprised fans with his look as the immortal character in the new teaser clip that dropped last night. In the clip, Bachchan who is seen draped in bandages and white cloth, introduces himself as “Guru Drona’s son, Ashwatthama.”
The clip then goes on to feature glimpses of his character, including a much younger and fitter avatar with a thick moustache and stubble.His impressive transformation into this ‘angry young man’ avatar sparked a frenzy among fans and critics alike.Taking to their social media handles, fans lauded director Nag Ashwin for his impressive use of VFX techniques to ‘de-age’ the legendary actor. Left in awe with his ‘natural’ look, many wondered if the team used VFX to achieve this or if they simply cast the actor’s son, Abhishek Bachchan to play the younger version of the character.
“Is that #AmitabhBachchan de-aged or Abhishek Bachhan?” a fan asked in a tweet.
Another said, “This is another example using VFX properly. Just stunned, the young look of #AmitabhBachchan sir.”
Meanwhile, Big B’s fans flooded the platform with tweets praising director Ashwin and lauding his meticulous attention to detail in bringing the character to life.
