Recently, he revealed why his aunties used to call him ‘Amitabh Singh’.
In a conversation with a contestant named Kirti on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Amitabh Bachchan spoke about inter-caste marriage and mentioned about his parents being from different communities. The Kalki 2898 AD actor stated that he believes he is a ‘half-sardaar’ because his father belonged to UP and his mom was from Sikh family. His father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan did not keep his surname and rather used only his pen name. Since then, it is the Bachchan family. Hilariously, Amitabh Bachchan shared that when he was born, his aunties asked what is the name of this good looking boy and then they said, “Haaye sadda Amitabh Singh.”
Amitabh Bachchan also praised contestant Kirti’s father. She revealed that it was her father’s dream to be on Kaun Banega Crorepati. Further adding that her father used to sit by the phone and tried his level best to become a part of the quiz show. But that could not happen. Now, her father is suffering from liver psoriasis and there are times when he tends to forget everything including how to write. But she added that he would never forget Kaun Banega Crorepati and would be able to answer questions.
