There are only a handful of movies in our film industry that revolve around the intricate bond between a father and a daughter, and Shoojit Sircar’s I Want to Talk is one of them. The movie is based on a real-life story, the movie focuses on a cancer survivor, portrayed by Abhishek Bachchan, who is facing life-altering surgery as well as navigating his life with his daughter.
Now, netizens are pointing out that, amid swirling divorce rumours between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, the former has chosen not to publicly support the actor’s new film.

Sharing a film review, Amitabh Bachchan showcased his pride, stating, “Magical is the IN word… my love blessings and more.” He further said, “Mere bete, bete hone se mere uttaradhikari nahin honge; jo mere uttaradhikari honge woh mere bete honge. Abhishek mere bete; mere uttaradhikari,” which translates to, “My son, being a son does not make him my successor; those who will be my successors will be my sons. Abhishek is my son, my successor.”

While Aishwarya Rai has remained quiet regarding I Want To Talk, she recently shared a heartfelt birthday message for their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who turned 13. Despite the ongoing rumours about their marriage, Amitabh Bachchan has chosen not to comment on those issues. In a tweet, the veteran actor wrote, “It takes immense courage, conviction, and sincerity to be different and believe in its presence in life. I rarely say much about family because that is my domain, and its privacy is maintained by me. Speculations are speculations… they are speculated untruths, without verifications.”

I Want To Talk tells the poignant real-life story of Arjun Sen, director Shoojit Sircar’s friend and a USA-based NRI facing life-altering surgery, who looks at the brighter side of life whilst navigating a complex relationship with his daughter, Reya, as a single parent.
