Amid Delay in CUET UG 2024 Results, JNU Plans to Continue Admissions For Next Year Through CUET System

New Delhi: Due to the delay in the announcement of CUET UG Results, several central universities including Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) can anticipate a postponement at the start of the first semester for undergraduate courses and programs. Jawaharlal Nehru University is expecting a delay in the commencement of the first semester for undergraduate courses due to the pending results of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET-UG), Vice Chancellor Santishree D. Pandit said on Sunday.

While speaking to news agency ANI, Vice Chancellor Pandit made it clear that the University is not planning to abandon the CUET system.Going by the NTA CUET UG Information bulletin, the results for the Common University Entrance Test were initially scheduled for release on June 30. However, the NTA CUET Results were not declared on June 30.

The semester for first-year students at many Universities, including Delhi University (DU) is also expected to be postponed to August 16, as per Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh. The classes for Semesters 3 and 5 of the Undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2024-25 will begin as per schedule, on August 1. Meanwhile, classes for Semesters 2 and 4 of the Undergraduate programmes are slated to be held from January 2, 2025. The Initially, JNU was planning to start the classes in August.

When asked if Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) might drop the CUET system, the Vice Chancellor told the news agency ANI, “No, MA admissions are already completed, and BA admissions will go through CUET.” She confirmed that classes will begin as soon as the CUET results come out.
