Alia Bhatt sent social media into a tizzy with her latest appearance on Kapil Sharma’s show.
The actress, who has been out and about, promoting her upcoming film ‘Jigra’, hit the sets of The Great Indian Kapil Show where she sent fans into a frenzy after referring to herself as ‘Alia Bhatt-Kapoor’.
The actress, who has been married to actor Ranbir Kapoor, since April 2022, publically called herself by the ‘Kapoor’ surname for the first time.A trailer for the episode that has since gone viral, shows Alia promoting her upcoming film alongside co-star Vedang Raina and producer Karan Johar.

In the clip, comedian Sunil Grover jokingly asks the actress if she’s Alia Bhatt, to which she playfully responds, “I am Alia Bhatt-Kapoor.” The moment caught Grover off guard and has since sent fans into a tizzy online.

If Alia has indeed adopted her husband’s surname, it does not come as a surprise as she has expressed her desire to do so, saying that she “didn’t want to feel left out.” Shortly after her marriage and pregnancy announcement, the actress revealed that she was ‘happy’ to officially change her name to Alia Bhatt-Kapoor. She further added that she didn’t want to be the ‘only Bhatt’ among the Kapoors while she was travelling with Ranbir and their daughter, Raha Kapoor.

In the meantime, Alia is set to release her second film production on October 11, 2024. She is also currently shooting for YRF’s upcoming spy thriller ‘Alpha‘, directed by Shiv Rawail, where she stars alongside Sharvari. Additionally, she will reunite with Ranbir Kapoor on-screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, which also features Vicky Kaushal. According to the latest reports, the production of the romantic drama has been postponed with the makers now eyeing a 2026 release for the film.
