The film portrays the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, a revered football coach who transformed the sport in India. Rahim’s perseverance, guidance, and foresight made him a legendary figure in Indian sports. The film depicts the hurdles, commitments, and victorious instances of Rahim and the Indian football team as they aim to surmount societal challenges and make their mark internationally. Paired opposite Ajay in the movie is south actress Priyamani who was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. But it was earlier reported that another south actress Keerthi Shetty was supposed to be part of the film, but things didn’t work out. It was then speculated that she decided to opt out of the film because of age issues.
But in an interview with News18, director Amit Ravindernath Sharma has revealed the true reason behind Keerthy’s exit from the film. He stated that he had a certain look in mind for Rahim’s wife and Keerthy had lost a lot of weight. Post that she wasn’t the right fit for the character, and everyone realized that someone else would be better.
