Air India, one of India’s top airlines, has introduced a new feature called ‘AEYE Vision’ on its mobile app.
This AI-powered tool is designed to make travel easier by providing real-time trip updates through a quick scan.
With AEYE Vision, passengers can now access flight details, boarding passes, baggage status, and even meal options by simply scanning a code on their ticket, boarding pass, or baggage tag. The feature eliminates the need to manually enter details—just point your phone camera at the relevant document, and all the information is instantly available.
Here’s what AEYE Vision offers:
- Boarding Pass: Scan to automatically add your journey details to ‘My Trips’ and check your flight and baggage status.
- Baggage Tag: Keep track of your checked-in bags. Get updates on when your bags are loaded, unloaded, and ready for pickup.
- Ticket: Scan your ticket to start web check-in, add the trip to ‘My Trips,’ and track your flight and baggage.
This new feature, found on the top-right corner of the Air India app, streamlines the process, reducing the need for manual data entry. Whether you scan directly with your phone camera or upload an image, the app instantly recognizes the content and takes action.
Dr. Satya Ramaswamy, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Air India, said, “We are delighted to bring to bear the power of the latest in artificial intelligence technology in the form of computer vision to ease the journey of our esteemed customers on our mobile app. We will be embedding this capability across our mobile app so that the app is a joy to use.”
Air India plans to add more exciting features soon, including a baggage dimension check, passport scan, and augmented reality-based destination details.
