Air fryer lasagne burrito recipe is ‘a thing of beauty’

Nathan Anthony, the culinary sensation behind Bored of Lunch and a best-selling cookbook author, has once again delighted his fans with an ingenious burrito recipe that infuses the beloved flavours of classic comfort food.

The Northern Irish food wizard, who rose to fame during the COVID-19 lockdown by sharing his easy-to-follow air fryer and slow cooker recipes on social media, has been a hit in the publishing world.

Last year, he took the book charts by storm with two Sunday Times number-one bestsellers, The Healthy Slow Cooker Book and The Healthy Air Fryer Book, and this year he’s added another chart-topper to his collection.

In a recent TikTok video, Nathan showcased how to craft a mouth-watering lasagne-stuffed burrito, reports the Daily Record.

As he presented the delicious cross-section of his creation, Nathan exclaimed: “These lasagne burritos are all over my TikTok page at the moment, so I had to make one in my air fryer. It’s a trend I can get on board with.”

With just five ingredients needed for the recipe or even leftovers from a previous meal, Nathan hailed the burrito as a “thing of beauty”.

He enthused about his culinary experiment in the video’s caption: “A thing of beauty! It’s been trending all over my social media lately.

“With some leftover Bolognese in my fridge, I decided to give it a try… and it was unreal. You probably could meal prep these.”

The internet is abuzz with the latest culinary sensation an air fryer lasagne burrito that has amassed over 363,100 views and thousands of likes.

Andreawhyte58 exclaimed: “I need this in my Life!!!”

NI Food Reviews chimed in, “Lasagne is my fave food, now I NEED to try this,” while Abigail Parkinson succinctly added, “The cheese.”

Here’s how you can whip up the mouth-watering lasagne burrito that’s taking social media by storm.

Start by boiling a saucepan of water and cooking the dry lasagne sheet for five minutes if you’re not using a pre-cooked one.

Lay out the tortilla wrap on a flat surface and spoon two tablespoons of bolognese mix onto it.

Add half of the cooked pasta sheet on top, followed by a tablespoon of bechamel sauce and a generous sprinkle of cheese.

Repeat the layering once more.

Neatly fold your burrito and encase it in tin foil to keep the wrap from hardening.

Pop the wrapped burrito into the air fryer and cook at 180C for ten minutes.

Once done, unwrap your culinary creation and dig in!
