Air fryers cook food much quicker and tend to be cheaper to run than ovens, making them a great option for everyone.
They not only save on energy but also save on effort and reduce the need for oil when cooking.
Not many people think of baking brownies in an air fryer, but according to BBC Good Food, they are delicious.
The recipe notes said: “Treat yourself to these double chocolate brownies made with dark chocolate and studded with white chocolate chips.
“They’re made in the air fryer, so they’ll save on energy too.”
Ingredients
125g butter
125g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
Two eggs
175g caster sugar
80g plain flour
20g cocoa powder
40g white chocolate chips
Method
Start by melting the butter and dark chocolate together in a small pan over low heat, or in a microwave.
Leave to cool for a few minutes and in the meantime, line a square cake tin that can fit in your air fryer with baking parchment.
Heat the air fryer to 160C and whisk the eggs, sugar and a pinch of salt together using an electric whisk until combined and thick in consistency.
Sift the flour and cocoa powder over the egg mixture and then pour in the melted chocolate and butter mixture.
Using a spatula, gently gold the ingredients together until just combined before stirring in the chocolate chips.
Pour the thick batter into the prepared tin and air fry the brownies for 25 minutes until set with a slight wobble in the middle.
Leave the tin to cool completely before cutting them into squares, the recipe should make around nine brownies.
The recipe notes added: “The time the brownie takes to bake will depend on the size of your air fryer tin.
“Check with a skewer to make sure the brownie is cooked through but still slightly fudgy in the centre, before leaving to cool completely.”
For the neatest brownies, chill in the fridge for a couple of hours before cutting them up.
