Ayushman scheme expansion for senior citizens

Highlighting other healthcare initiatives, Adityanath announced that the Ayushman Bharat scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will now extend its benefits to residents over the age of 70. The announcement was made as Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various health sector projects valued at approximately Rs 12,850 crore.

Boosting infrastructure in Meerut

The Chief Minister also attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony for an ESIC Hospital in Meerut, where he underscored the city’s development as an infrastructure hub. The city, he said, has seen advancements with the construction of the Expressway and Rapid Rail projects, and the upcoming Ganga Expressway will further connect residents with cultural sites like the Kumbh Mela.

On the same occasion, Prime Minister Modi participated virtually in the inauguration, saying these projects, including the Jan Aushadhi Kendra expansion at AIIMS Delhi, will further enhance healthcare accessibility across the country.

Sports and education development

Adityanath also highlighted Meerut’s contributions under the state’s One District-One Product (ODOP) program, particularly in sports manufacturing, and announced the establishment of a sports university. This new institution, he said, will help foster future Olympians and support the growth of young athletes. Additionally, an Atal residential school has been built in every commissionerate to provide free education, accommodation, and development opportunities for the children of workers in the area.

Diwali celebrations with Ramlala in Ayodhya

As the Diwali festival approaches, Adityanath reminded the public of the recent Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ramlala in Ayodhya and encouraged households to light lamps in celebration of Ramlala’s arrival. “On the arrival of Ramlala, lamps should be lit in your homes along with Ayodhya,” he appealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh.
