AICTE Begins Program for PhD, ME and MTech For Diploma Faculty

The programme are open to full-time faculty members of AICTE-approved polytechnic engineering institutes who wish to pursue a master’s degree under the QIP scheme.

Applicants may submit their applications up until June 6.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the launch of full-time ME, MTech along with PhD programmes for this upcoming 2024-25 year. These programmes are provided under the Quality Improvement Program (QIP). The programme are open to full-time faculty members of AICTE-approved polytechnic engineering institutes who wish to pursue a master’s degree under the QIP scheme.

Candidates who are interested can visit the official website https://www.aicte-india.org/ for the application form. The last date to register is June 20.

“This 18 credit programme is available for six months and will be held in hybrid mode in addition to it, it offered by IITs, IISc, IIITs and C-DAC. The programme will be funded by AICTE,” according to official notification.

AICTE Admission Process

From the faculty members of AICTE approved institutions the AICTE is inviting the applications under “AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme.

AICTE will assign the applicants to the suitable host institution for the selection process, based on the applicants received. In addition the concerned host institution could only begin the post graduate certification program if a minimum number of thirty candidates are admitted into a course.

AICTE Admission Timeline

Applicants may submit their applications up until June 6 and the time of conducting the interview by the respective institution is June 18 to 20. After that the institute will send a list to AICTE by June 20.AICTE will then announce results which will be completed on June 24. The programme will commence on June 30.

It is mandatory on campus period of programme which will be held between June 30 to July 12 whereas the online (with possible on campus also) will take place between July 14 to December 11. Afterwards the mandatory on campus work will take place between Dec 14 to 26. The final assessment by the concerned institute will be done between Dec 21 to 26. The final result will be announced or finally done on Jan 13, 2025.

AICTE Subjects under Programme

The subjects under this programme are- AI/ML/Data Science/Data Analytics, Augmented- (AR) / Mixed- (MR) / Virtual Realities (VR) / Cyber Physical Systems, IoT & Drone Technology, Intelligent Transport Systems, Robotics, 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing.

AICTE Eligibility Criteria

The admission guideline for AICTE -QIP-PG Certificate Programme are as mentioned below:-

  1. Full-time Regular and Permanent faculty members in CORE Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Civil, Material/Metallurgical, Electrical and Electronics, Chemical, etc. who work at Degree Level or Diploma Level institutes approved by the AICTE.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of graduate or diploma level teaching experience is needed at an AICTE approved institution.
  3. In addition to the above minimum eligibility, criteria of respective host institutions shall be applicable.
    Six months will be the duration of AICTE-QIP-PG certificate program(s).
  4. The batch size should be 50 candidates at one identified host institution per session.
  5. The course or courses will be provided through hybrid mode.
  6. Out of the total six months duration, a minimum of four weeks will have to be conducted offline.

Enrolled candidates are eligible for up to two casual leaves in a single session along with a maximum of one week per session. Students should mandatorily have 80 per cent attendance for lectures (inclusive of off campus and on campus) and 90 per cent attendance for Lab works to appear for final evaluation and certificate.
