The luxury holiday booking company Smoky Mountains has shared the world’s best holiday destinations for tourists travelling on their own.
In recent years, a growing number of tourists are choosing to go on holiday alone, which allows them to see a new destination at their own pace and save money too.
However, Brittany Mendez, travel expert at Smoky Mountains, suggested that there are far more advantages to travelling alone.
She explained: “Solo travel can bring some amazing benefits to your mental health, and it can provide a unique way of discovering yourself for many.
“It can truly make for a spiritual and transformative experience, especially in the midst of a major life transition.”
Looking at the most commonly mentioned destinations for solo travel, Smoky Mountains found that Prague is the best hot-spot for solo tourists.
Said to be one of the most affordable cities in Europe, visitors can stay in the capital of the Czech Republic for an average of £70 per week.
With origins dating back to around 1300 BC, Prague still has plenty of history to offer tourists, including the awe-inspiring Prague Castle and Charles Bridge.
Another popular destination for solo travel is Krakow, with Smoky Mountains suggesting the Polish city in particular for budget-conscious tourists.
On average, tourists can spend £570 for a week in Krakow, including flights, food and accomodations, with the company highlighting youth hostels as a cheap and safe way to see the city.
They also noted that there are plenty of walking tours that visitors can go on during a trip to the city, with the Old Town featuring beautiful architecture and walkable streets.
