Aditya Chopra, Reveals He Spent More On Bikes Rather On John and Amitabh

In a Netflix documentary series of ‘The Romantics’ Aditya Chopra said, “In Dhoom, I spent more money on bikes than on Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Uday Chopra (sic).” In the 2004 action thriller “Dhoom,” a cunning thief named Kabir (John Abraham) leads a motorbike gang on a series of daring heists in Mumbai. These criminals become notorious for leaving the police in the dust with their getaway bikes, constantly one step ahead of the law. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and penned by Vijay Krishna Acharya, “Dhoom” roared into theaters and became a massive hit in 2004.

Take a look here:

Producer Aditya Chopra envisioned “Dhoom” as a unique blend, combining the styles of two distinct filmmakers: Manmohan Desai and Michael Bay during the Netflix documentary. Chopra said, “There were three pillars of Hindi films, as everybody used to say, which you can’t do without drama, emotion, and romance. I said I am going to remove these three pillars and see what happens! With ‘Dhoom’, I wanted to make a film where I could combine Manmohan Desai and Michael Bay (sic).”

After the 2004 hit “Dhoom,” producer Aditya Chopra saw franchise potential and decided to expand the story. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra returned as the cop duo, Jai Dixit and Ali, in the sequels “Dhoom 2” and “Dhoom 3.” However, “Dhoom 2” featured a new antagonist, played by Hrithik Roshan, instead of John Abraham. Similarly, “Dhoom 3” introduced a fresh villainous character portrayed by Aamir Khan. Despite rumours swirling about a sequel, Yash Raj Films has remained tight-lipped on the possibility of a fourth movie in the franchise.

Should there be a fourth sequel of Dhoom francise? Stay tuned for more updates.
