The entire nation was in shock when two men opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment on April 14, 2024. Post the incident, police started their search operation and arrested three men. Out of three, one accused committed suicide and the other two were under police custody. Now according to a fresh report, the two accused Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta have been sent to judicial custody till May 27, 2024.
The special court handling cases under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has similarly prolonged the judicial detention of Sonukumar Bishnoi, another accused, until the same specified date. As per news agency ANI, Sagar and Vicky’s custody came to an end on May 08, and both the accused requested an extension for additional questioning after which the court placed them in judicial custody.
The report also stated that advocate Amit Mishra, who represents the accused, voiced dissatisfaction with the court’s ruling and proposed rehearsed proceedings.
He told ANI, “It is unfortunate that when they were produced on April 29, there were four accused, one of whom was granted judicial custody. Today, only accused numbers one and two were produced, while others were absent. The prosecution sought their police custody without concrete evidence. The court, however, sent accused numbers one and two to judicial custody which will be till May 27 considering from May 13.”
The initial photograph of the gunmen emerged on social media on April 14. Believed to be a screenshot from CCTV footage, the picture depicted both individuals wearing caps and carrying backpacks. One was dressed in a white T-shirt with a black jacket and denim, while the other wore a red T-shirt with denim.
