A nutrition specialist’s favourite Hong Kong restaurants for sushi, noodles, fine dining

Personal trainer and functional medicine practitioner Tricia Yap is a co-founder of Limitless Health gym in Hong Kong. She spoke to Andrew Sun.

I have spent my life living across Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, New York and Hong Kong, and my parents are both foodies who also love to travel. Growing up, I was encouraged to try all different kinds of food from all different cultures.

Today, I work as a nutritional therapist and strength coach. I very much believe that what you put in your mouth is important to both mental and physical health, but food cannot be boring or “sad” as it is fundamental to a strong community.

I usually prepare my own weekday lunch. However, I do love grabbing takeaway from Karui Bento (four locations including Shop 108, Manning House, 38-48 Queen’s Road Central. Tel: 5633 1765) or a protein- and fibre-packed salad from Knead (G/F, 28 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan. Tel: 2851 7778).

Getting fresh sushi from Uoya Zen (G/F, 108 Wellington Street, Central. Tel: 2423 2008) is a treat. I also do their takeaway for dinner, as you can choose the fresh fish and seafood they get in from Japan.
