Addressing hundreds of party workers at AAP headquarters, Sisodia said he had expected justice to be delivered within 7-8 months but it had taken 17 months. “These tears have given me strength in the last 17 months. I was hoping that justice would be delivered in seven to eight months. It took 17 months but honesty and truth have won,” Sisodia said amid cheers from the audience.
Sisodia praised the verdict of the Supreme Court, saying it used the power of the Constitution to “trample dictatorship”, and that truth and honesty won in the end.”
Sisodia accused the BJP of framing AAP leaders in false cases and enforcing strict laws on them, comparing their treatment with how terrorists and drug dealers were being dealt with. “They (BJP) tried to frame Sanjay Singh, Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders in false cases and impose the country’s strict laws on us in the same manner as to how terrorists and drug dealers are being dealt with. They thought they would lock us up in jails and leave us to rot like terrorists and drug dealers,” he said.
