The highly anticipated Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will now be completed later than expected, with a new deadline set for 2026.

Originally planned to be finished by January 2023, the project has faced delays due to technical and land acquisition challenges.

Harsh Mallhotra, the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, confirmed the delay, citing issues with securing land from the public as a major setback, as per News24.

Although some sections are already open, such as the stretch between Sohna in Haryana and Dausa in Rajasthan, which was launched by Prime Minister Modi in February 2023, work is still ongoing.

Once completed, the 1,386 km expressway will cut travel time between Delhi and Mumbai in half, reducing the 24-hour journey to just 12 hours, providing commuters with a faster and more comfortable ride.
