ALLY McCOIST caught sight of a ball and a shirt as he sifted through his late mum’s belongings.
Still grieving at Jessie’s passing at the age of 94, what the TNT Sports pundit uncovered that day made him smile.

In 1984 McCoist netted a hat-trick as Rangers won an Old Firm League final in extra-time.
He scored one penalty, gave away another for the goal that saw Celtic equalise, then netted the winner after slotting home the rebound when a second spot-kick was saved.
Coisty said: “My wee mum passed away a couple of years back and we were going through stuff.
“She still had my jersey from that game and the ball. It was incredible. So I’ve now got them in the house.

“It’s great to keep. The signatures are a bit faded but some great boys played in that game. Ally Dawson, who’s sadly no longer with us, was in the squad.
“Colin McAdam, big Peter McCloy, Jimmy Nicholl. Wee John MacDonald, who I saw last week, at Drumchapel, where he’s from, because his son was refereeing my boy, who was playing for Drumchapel.
“The 1984 celebrations were pretty wild.
“It was mobile discos not a mobile phone, live music and everybody was up singing. Before the Spurs game in midweek I was looking at some of the photographs at Ibrox, and there was a pic up on the wall of big Jock Wallace and myself after the 1984 final with the cup.“Truly great memories.”
Coisty hopes Philippe Clement’s side can upset the odds and stun Celts to lift the trophy today.
He added: “If you were to offer me another 3-2 now I’d bite your hand off. Celtic will start as favourites, but Rangers’ form has picked up now.
“The displays in Europe have been good. They are creating a lot more chances and they are looking livelier. Igamane’s looked very lively and I really like Cerny.
“I like his attitude because there was a wee period where he wasn’t happy with the fans, and they weren’t happy with him. But he knuckled down and became one of the key players.
“Hagi, technically, might be the best at the club. He’s a terrific footballer and I’m delighted to see him back. Rangers are a better team when he’s in and around it.
“Hagi’s got a football brain, he creates, he takes it in tight areas, he’s clever, he’ll get you free-kicks, and he’ll score you goals.
“He’s the one that could make them all tick and the catalyst to make them all play.”
