Early Life of Rajinikanth
Born as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, Rajinikanth belonged to a humble family. His mother was a homemaker, and his father was a police constable. Did you know that as a child, Thalaiva had a keen interest in football, basketball, and cricket? However, there came a point when Rajinikanth developed an interest in acting. After completing his education, to make ends meet, Rajinikanth took on various jobs, including working as a coolie and even a bus conductor. Rajinikanth’s Big Break
In 1975, Rajinikanth finally got his big break with the Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal. Though he had a small role in the film, he made an impact and began building a fanbase. A significant breakthrough came in 1976 with his performance in Moondru Mudichu (The Three Knots). From there, Rajinikanth never looked back, delivering several superhits. When Rajinikanth Fell in Love with His Interviewer
An interesting chapter in Rajinikanth’s life is his love story with his wife, Latha Rajinikanth. It all began when Latha, then a student at Ethiraj College, came to interview Rajinikanth for her college magazine.
Rajinikanth was shooting for the Tamil remake of the Bollywood film Golmaal, titled Thillu Mullu. During the interview, they discovered their Bangalore connection, which made them feel at ease. Rajinikanth fell in love with Latha at first sight. As soon as the interview ended, he confessed his feelings to her and proposed marriage.
Rajinikanth’s Professional Front
Over the years, Rajinikanth has delivered numerous blockbuster films. According to reports, the actor charged Rs 210 crore for playing the lead role of Muthuvel Pandian in Jailer, along with an additional Rs 100 crore for his involvement in the film. This makes Rajinikanth one of the highest-paid actors in the industry.
