Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) has mobilised both ground firefighting teams and aerial resources to combat a fire near Chapman’s Peak, just before the lookout point near the toll gate.

The City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services are reportedly also on site to assist with the response.
Authorities have urged the public to remain patient and cooperative as efforts continue to control the fire and restore normal conditions.
Delays in the area are expected and are being enforced for safety reasons.

The fire along Chapman’s Peak Drive has been successfully contained.
Aerial resources have returned to base, and 80 firefighters remain on scene, conducting mopping-up operations.
Chapman’s Peak Road will remain closed until mopping-up operations are well underway and the road is deemed safe for fire crews and vehicles.
