‘I have just been a puppet…’ Amid divorce rumours with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan’s new statement goes viral

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s divorce rumours have been circulating for quite a while now. Though, neither of the stars have officially said anything on the matter directly, on several occasions their gestures and words hinted that something is not right between the two. Amid this, Abhishek Bachchan has garnered immense praise for his performance in Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk. Bachchan’s never-seen-before character has been called his career’s best performance.

‘The Pain and Suffering…’

In an interview with Rediff.com, Abhishek shared how he approaches every character in his films. “I hope every actor gets to do work that is going to be career-defining with every film they choose to do. That’s the attitude with which you should approach each and every one of your films. I’d like to do that with every film of mine. As far as where does the pain and suffering come from, we’re actors. This is what we do.” The actor said.

Abhishek further shared that he is completely a director’s actor. Moreover, he credits Shoojit Sircar’s this time for his perfect direction. “We listen to the direction given to us by our director, in this case, Shoojitda (Sircar). The entire credit I have to give him. I’ve just been a puppet in his hands.”

In several occasions, Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his gratitude towards Shoojit Sircar. He is thankful for the opportunity to break away from the traditional Bollywood formula. Speaking to ETimes, the actor said, “What I’d like to thank Shoojit Da for is, and I hope you all can find some sort of parallel in your own life, you know, we’re all stuck in the rut of life,” Abhishek continued, speaking about the routine of everyday life and work. “We’re doing what we’re doing, we’re enjoying it. Some of us have got a corporate job, some of us are artists, some of us do whatever we do. Life dictates to you what you should be doing and how you should be doing it.”

Apart from Abhishek Bachchan, I Want to Talk features Pearle Dey, Ahilya Bamroo, Jayant Kripalani, Kristin Goddard, and Johny Lever in pivotal roles. The film is current running in theatres.
