On July 16, 2024, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The actress had previously announced her pregnancy in February. In a recent interview, the couple revealed their daughter’s name as Zuneyra Ida Fazal. They expressed gratitude to their well-wishers, stating they are “tickled pink with joy” about their new arrival.
During the same conversation with Vogue India, Ali expressed that the arrival of their baby girl has filled a void he hadn’t even realised existed, calling the experience amazing. He noted the challenges of balancing work, admitting to feeling anxious whenever he leaves home, as he wants to be with Richa and their daughter constantly.
Richa said she chose not to read too much about parenting because she didn’t want to feel overwhelmed. She believed that too much information could disrupt her natural instincts. While she learned the basics from nurses, taking care of her baby, Zuni, felt natural to her. Richa trusts her instincts and prefers to see what works best for both her and Zuni, and so far, this approach has been successful.
Ali and Richa first met while working on the sets of ‘Fukrey’. They were married in 2020 under the Special Marriage Act, with their wedding being a private ceremony due to the pandemic. In 2022, they celebrated their union with a larger gathering of family and friends.
On the work front, Chadha was recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, where she portrays the character Lajjo. The series, which explores the lives and struggles of courtesans in pre-independence India, is currently streaming on Netflix.
On the other hand, Fazal has some exciting projects coming up. He will star in the period fantasy thriller ‘Rakht Brahmand’ alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film, directed by Raj & DK and Rahi Anil Barve, is anticipated to be a thrilling experience.
