Actor Vijay’s TVK party passes resolution opposing BJP’s push for One Nation One Election

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party has officially opposed the Union Government’s proposal for ‘One Nation One Election,’ which aims to synchronize elections across India.

In a recent resolution, the party condemned this initiative, arguing that it undermines the federal structure and the unique needs of different states.

“TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) party opposes ‘One Nation One Election’. The resolution passed condemning the Union Government’s proposal,” the party said in a statement released on Sunday.

Further, the TVK passed resolutions calling for the Union Government to exempt Tamil Nadu from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which many in the state believe imposes unfair challenges on local students.

The party also requested the withdrawal of the Waqf Amendment Bill, which pertains to the management and governance of Waqf properties.

“Resolutions also passed requesting Union Government to provide exemption from the NEET exam in the State and withdraw the Waqf Amendment Bill,” TVK was quoted as saying.
