India’s youngest IAS officer Ansar Shaikh family background

IAS Officer Ansar Shaikh hails from Maharashtra’s Jalna village in the Marathwada district. He was raised by an autorickshaw driver and field labourer parents. His younger brother left school in the seventh grade to work at a garage to help support the family while his sister got married at the age of fifteen.

The youngest IAS officer in India, Ansar Shaikh, is the son of Yonus Sheikh Ahmad, an autorickshaw driver based in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. According to the indiatimes.com report, Ansar’s family has faced significant challenges; his father has struggled with alcohol addiction and has been married three times. Ansar’s mother, who typically works on farmland, is his father’s second wife. Despite these hardships, Ansar’s determination and resilience propelled him to achieve his dream of becoming an IAS officer.

At the age of 21, Ansar Shaikh cracked the UPSC Civil Services examination 2016. He secured an All India Rank(AIR) of 361 in the 2016 UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). According to the media reports, Ansar obtained 91 per cent in his Class 10th examinations. He completed his undergraduate at Pune College.

With a well-structured plan for success, Ansar excelled in school and opted to take the UPSC exams in Marathi and Political Science. Shaikh, now serves as the ADM in Cooch Behar, West Bengal.
