The actor we are talking about is Deepak Dobriyal. He hails from Delhi and worked in theatre with Arvind Gaur and has been a part of plays like Tughlaq and Andha Yug. After theatre, Deepak shifted his base to Mumbai to fulfil his dreams of acting in movies. Initially, he lived with 7 people in the same room. One of his friends told him to give his first audition for a role and was promised a meal, chowmein. Well, Deepak gave the audition and grabbed his first role in the movie Maqbool (2003). But the struggle wasn’t over yet.
In 2006, he appeared in Vishal’s Omkara and his life changed. In an interview, Deepak Dobriyal said how many people didn’t talk to him respectfully until then. “The casting people and coordinators would address me as ‘yeh patla sa actor hai’ (he is just a thin actor). But my performance in Omkara silenced them all and they began treating me with dignity,” he told Hindustan Times. The actor worked in movies like Delhi-6, Gulaal, Shaurya, Bholaa, Hindi Medium, and many more. The character he is widely loved for is Pappi from the Tanu Weds Manu franchise, which stars R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut.
