Tesco shoppers have just one month left to use their Clubcard points or risk losing them for good.
The supermarket chain has warned that more than £18 million worth of Clubcard vouchers are expiring at the end of next month, meaning customers must use up their reward points before midnight on November 30.
Clubcard vouchers are only valid for two years from the date of issue and cannot be used or reissued after this date, so you risk losing them if you don’t redeem them in time.
Shoppers can login to the Tesco Clubcard website online and click on ‘Clubcard account’ and then ‘Vouchers’ to check when their vouchers expire, or you can check via the Tesco app.
Once you’ve found your vouchers you can spend them online or instore using the code provided. Every £1 that is spent equates to one point when scanning your Clubcard or app, and drivers can earn one point for every two litres that is spent on fuel.
One point is equivalent to 1p, so every 150 points you collect amounts to a £1.50 saving. Shoppers need to collect a minimum of 150 to request a Clubcard voucher to spend.
Clubcard vouchers can also be used to save money on petrol, or be doubled in value and spent at more than 100 reward partners, including Disney+, Pizza Express, Hungry Horse pubs and Ask Italian.
Additionally, shoppers also have the option of swapping their vouchers to claim money off their Tesco mobile bill.
If your Clubcard vouchers are due to expire and you don’t want to spend them yet, it may be possible to extend the expiry date by another two years.
To do this you’ll need to make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards page and the remaining balance will then be credited back to your Clubcard account as points.
These points can then be swapped for vouchers manually or you can wait for them to be converted with your next statement. The new expiry date for these vouchers will then be two years later, so you’ll have until 2026 to use them.
Tesco said: “When you request to turn your Clubcard points into vouchers, your statement will no longer be sent to you by post. Your Clubcard statement will then be sent to your registered email address.
“You must have a minimum of 150 Clubcard points to request a voucher. When you request to turn your points into vouchers, your points balance will be turned into vouchers, in 50p increments. Any remaining points will stay in your Clubcard points balance.
“Any adjustments or refunds to your points balance will be processed instantly. The amount you receive in vouchers may be different to the number of points requested, to account for any adjustments or refunds.
“Clubcard collection periods are quarterly, (May, August, November, and February but exact dates may vary). Members will not be able to turn points into vouchers for 10 days before the end of each collection period.”
