In a throwback interview, Aishwarya revealed how her Roka ceremony happened without her father. She said, “I didn’t even know that there is something called ‘Roka’. We are South Indians, so I don’t know what Roka is and suddenly we got a call from their house – we are coming.”
In an episode of Famously Filmfare Season 2, Aishwarya Rai shared the story of how her and Abhishek Bachchan’s roka ceremony came about unexpectedly right after his proposal in the absence of his father. She further said, “Abhishek said- we are all coming and I cannot stop father. We are on the way. We are coming to your house. I thought oh my god, what is happening! My father isn’t there. He is out of town.”
