Former President Barack Obama hit two birds with one stone on Friday night while campaigning in North Carolina when he told a joke at the expense of embattled Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.
Obama told a crowd of Tar Heel State voters that Robinson’s scandalous campaign for governor had exposed allegations about him that made former President Donald Trump come off as “normal.”
The 44th president poked fun at Robinson over his “Black Nazi” porn scandal and urged voters to support Democratic North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein on Election Day.
“I do not know where to start with this man,” Obama said. He continued:
He called the civil rights movement crap. Called LGBTQ people filth. Self-identified as a Nazi. Suggested bringing back slavery. Now, I shouldn’t have to really get into all this. I think it’s fair to say you do not need a governor who makes Donald Trump look almost normal. You deserve somebody who is gonna work every day and fight for you! Somebody who has shown that he is up for the job! Somebody like Josh Stein! He’s been doing it his entire career.
Robinson, who received Trump’s enthusiastic endorsement, was the subject of a September CNN report that linked his personal email address to a pornographic website where the gubernatorial candidate allegedly commented frequently.
In one video for a website called Nude Africa, Robinson allegedly wrote, “I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f*cking hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in! And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!”
Another comment CNN connected to the Republican’s email read, “I’m a black NAZI!”
In another comment that Robinson denied writing, the flagged account wrote, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it (slavery) back. I would certainly buy a few.”
