HE’S one of Scottish football’s brightest young talents.
Now it seems Aston Villa’s Rory Wilson could leave the club – which may have an undesired financial impact on Rangers.
Wilson, 18, joined Villa from Gers in the summer of 2022.
He quickly amassed a host of potential suitors with a remarkable 49 goals that season.
And it was the Birmingham outfit who managed to secure the signature of the young Scot for a minimum fee of £350,000 and on a three-year contract.
The Ibrox side are said to have secured a 10% sell on clause in the deal, but that could prove underwhelming if his Villa Park exit is expected sooner rather than later.

Light Blues chiefs would have hoped that the youngster – who signed a professional contract with the English Premier League club on his 17th birthday – would go on to make them millions.
But the fee could be as little as in the tens of thousands, according to a report.
The Athletic suggest that the Scotland U21 international has hit an impasse in his contract negotiations, disappointed with the game time he receives under Villa boss Unai Emery and demanding an unprecedented wage for an academy player.
With just eight months left on his deal, he could leave on a free in January, where the English side would be due merely a compensation fee.
The figure is said to be just £233,000.
And it would mean Gers would be due just £23k.
